Bespoke Day Tours

When I started birding properly in my teens I had a wealth of help getting started and finding birds, It's come to a time though where I can now turn it around and help you, if you're new to birding or just need a little help with the little brown jobs that always go down as unidentified, why not join me for a day tour around my favorite county. Now based permanently in Weymouth I'm just 10 minutes away from one of the UK's top birding destinations Portland Bill, the last few years have been spent travelling all over Dorset in search of birds, from the Bill tip to Poole Harbour and back on some days, I've looked everywhere.

Dorset and the surrounding counties have so much to offer when it comes to bird watching and over the years I've gained lots of local knowledge of where and when to find birds. If there is something that you really want to see but regularly eludes you, I am here to help. Everything will be done at a relaxed pace, I'm not one for rushing all over the place to see birds, I did that years ago, I'd rather take time and enjoy them all!

I can take out up to 3 guests, we'll be able to explore Dorset's top sites at a nice leisurely pace, spending plenty of time at each site in the search of the counties best birds, of course if we stray into a neighboring county a little it won't hurt! From Avocets to Yellowhammers, Dorset has masses to offer, some of the specialties include Woodlark, Dartford Warbler, Spoonbill, Wintering Divers and Grebes, incoming Spring and Autumn migrants and much, much more. Below is a very small selection of birds I've seen in Dorset in the last few years, it's all there for us to find, scroll through them to find details on my packages and prices.

Hume's Warbler, Ortolan Bunting, Semipalmated Sandpiper, Melodious Warbler, Sabine's Gull, Short-toed Lark, Richards Pipit, Firecrest, Crossbill, Hoopoe and Subalpine Warbler

The packages I offer are as follows; A Half day (4-5 hours) Including hot drinks and biscuits, great if you're strapped for time or perhaps have other commitments, these are best done in the mornings at migration times but can take place at a time that suits you. A Full day (8-9 Hours) exploring Dorsets birds takes time so why not make a day of it? A full day will include a Packed lunch and a rather nice slice of homemade cake too!
Prices:

Full Day including lunch - £60 Per person, however a discounted price will be offered should you wish to book for more than one day.

Half Day - £35 Per person

It may be possible to cater for larger groups, coach parties or local bird clubs, please get in contact to see what we can arrange.

Come and join me soon, we'll have a brilliant time, Joe.
